Maybe gay??
I am freaked out right now- my girlfriend of 6 months just broke up with me and said she thought I was gay. She thought I was too close with my best college buddy. I don't think I'm gay, but if someone tells you that they think you are, what does that mean?

i don't think i've ever heard of this one before.... she gave this as the reason for breaking up with you? well if you're not gay, then maybe she was trying to come up with an excuse for breaking up with you that would distract you? or maybe she was trying to provoke you in some way?

Birdsong, I'm by no means an expert on this, but I think that you'd know whether or not you're gay, or at least curious to experiment, especially by the time you're in your 20s.

Yoga2002 has a point. If your ex is the only one who's ever said anything, and you've never had feelings for other men, she may have just been messing with you.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Wow- I usually read these conversations and am impressed by what people say, but the coments above seem reallly insensitive! If birdsong wrote that he is freaking out, then there must be something there. Even if he doesn't end up being gay, it's still worth trying to figure out what made him freak out. Does anyone else agree?

I wouldn't say they other posters are insensitive, but I think tulip is right that you may want to try to understand what freaked you out. Is it that deep down you know she might be right? Or are you uncomfortable with the nature of your friendship with your college buddy?

But tulip, I also think that a lot of people would be freaked if their significant other of six months questioned their sexuality, regardless of if there's any basis to it.
