I have dated many guys who are very accepting of the fact that I have a child...others I can see want to run at the first mention of it, before getting to know what I'm all about. That's very frustrating, but I wouldn't want anyone in my life that's judgemental like that anyway, so I have to keep reminding myself of that.

Some of my guy friends tell me to be upfront about it, while others tell me to not scare guys off by telling them I have a child before they get to know who I am...I'm an upfront girl, so I tend to tell them sooner rather than later, rather than risking the guy thinking I was being deceptive by not telling them early on in the dating game.

I like to think that my daughter doesn't scare guys away, but filters out the ones I wouldn't want to date anyway! I'm more likely to get a good guy if he is willing to get to know me knowing I have a daughter, and possibly get two great girls in his life :)
